A google solution
So...I've just spent the last half hour deleting all references to my last name or the last name of my family members. I have, until now, felt relatively insulated in my blogosphere. But now that that damn Google came out with their blog search engine, I'm feeling a bit...exposed. And not in a good way.

OMG, Catherine, you are so talented and gernerous. I am in awe. I LOVE that fabric, the dragonflies are so perfect:)
What has happened with the google thing? has someone found you? Are you a registered public blogger? Do you have to be to be found on there? SOunds creepy to say the least *shudder*
It's at http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch. It finds you using the good ol' Google technology.
Now you know why I use an assumed name... there's a picture out there of me somewhere in a bikini, taken on vacation a few years ago. Eeek!
I just typed in 'Catherine Ohio' - I don't know why Ohio, I think you must have mentioned it in previous posts and found you on the first page!
Now I'm off to see if I can find myself. I never have been able to before but this new thingy sounds slightly more big brotherish than regular google.
Yup, creepy.
Great. A search of my last name turned up something, and according to their FAQ, it's there for good. *sigh*...
If it's something in your blog, you can just edit the post where it is in your blog and take it out, then it won't show up anymore.
Hmm, I hope. I guess I'll have to check back in a day or so.
Regular Google will eventually drop out stuff that's no longer posted. Don't know about Blog Google.
Oh - the heading may still be the same, but the link will not. For example, my name is out there for a dance performance I did, but I wanted the pictures taken down. So when you click on the link itself, mention of me is nowhere to be found.
The mention of my last name was in the little "content blurb" under the link. I'll have to check and see if it caches that, or updates for current content.
