140bpm

We had to wait for an hour and a half, but we finally got to see the doc. We joked with Dr. A that if we're going to have to wait that long to see him they should at least leave the ultrasound machine in the room so we could play with it. Much to our surprise, he agreed and told us how to work it if we're ever lucky enough to be left alone in a room with an ultrasound machine (I love that man).

Everything looks good. GB is still alive and still wiggling around. Heartbeat=around 140bpm. I lost 3/10 of a pound, so that's good. There was slight protein in my urine, which the nurse said was ok. My BP was 120/70...right around normal for me.

The poor receptionist almost had a meltdown on her hand when she told me that I may not be able to see Dr. A in two weeks as requested. I looked her straight in the eye and said, "I'm high risk and I won't be seeing any other doctor." She tried to tell me that the next available appointment was July 7th but I wasn't budging. She called nurse Sandy who came out and double-booked me into an appointment in two weeks. :o)

Now maybe I've got another week and a half without any dead baby thoughts or nightmares. I hope so. I'm tired.

Good news! Good job sticking up for yourself to get to see your doctor. I see two, but the receptionists often try to have me rotate through the practice. It's always satisfying to pull the "I'm high risk" line... and then get what you want.

Hell, at this point we deserve to get anything we want, especially when with waits that long to see a doctor!

You go girl! Great news about the hb - nice and solid:) I'm so happy that your doctor and at least one receptionist understand that you are She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed ;) So, onwards to the next appointment!

So glad you had a good appointment and got the future one you wanted. GB is just flourishing in there!

I think those u/s operating instructions would make a great blog post - share the wealth and all. :)

That's great news! I insisted on going in every two weeks with Dorothy as well. Then after the cerclage it was mandatory every week. It really helped keep me semi sane. I had dead baby dreams a lot early on in my pregnancy... even a dream that I had twins and one was stillborn. The good thing was that they stopped after 18 weeks or so. I don't know why because I was still terrified. But at that point I guess my hormones were a bit more level or something. It helped not to have those dreams all the time.

Great appointment!

Good for you getting the earlier appointment. Sandy sounds like a gem. Receptionists can either be your best friend or a roadblock to your entire well-being.

yay baby! yay you for sticking up for your appointment.

i had to do the same, a few times, while i was pregnant with O. i found it comforted me, keeping the gaps between reassurance short.

i hope it does for you, too.

Good for you for sticking up for your rights.

And cool about operating the machine...I've watched so much, and been left alone before and I'm soooo tempted.

LOVE the good u/s! good for you for standing your ground on the appt. so glad gb was alive and kicking. i check your blg first every time i get online and will continue to for the foreseeable future. its a long road ahead of you. do you cross days off the calendar? i love doing that esp when you miss afew days and then get to cross off a bunch of days.

your dream was so horrifying. my god it must have made your blood run cold. this baby has to be okay. i know it doesnt really but it also really does. if that makes sense. counting the weeks with you.
