Please tell me that is a teapot under there, and not a bong.

Oh a tea cozy! Bless your little heart :)

Actually, I've really been wanting to knit one of those. I have a pattern for one that looks like an eightball. Now I just need a teapot...

Hailing from one of Mother England's Colonies and being that I have my obligatory cuppa sitting by the computer as I type, I think tea cozies are very, very useful items. I am half way through knitting one myself actually. It hadn't occurred to me that I could also cover my bong with it.... people can be so resourceful, can't they???? How splendid!!

So THAT'S a tea cozy!

(I've been wondering exactly what it was, since that's what the house-elf Dobby wears in the Harry Potter books.)

But Catherine - how else will you keep your teapot warm?

So *that's* what a tea cozy looks like...learn something new every day!

Ok, my word verification is stgimpy. St. Gimpy?? I thought that would amuse you...

You know, that one doesn't bother me as the ones I've seen on toasters and can openers. There's a limit...

You have my word I will find a doctor when you post a picture of the tea cozy you've made.

Is it wrong that I actually kind of like this?

It reminds me of simpler times and little old ladies who I've loved and lost.

Thanks for the cozy little trip down memory lane.

:)

i think it's kinda cute. i don't want one but i would be charmed if i was served tea from a teapot that was 'cozied.'

I have one of these! My mum knitted it. It has vertical stripes and a pompom. It does a fine job of keeping teapots nice and hot and the teapot handle nice and cool.

I for one, will abide by your wishes. Off to the white padded room for you if it EVEN CROSSES YOUR MIND.

I'll give it cute, but just a bit more in the social security crowd than you are prepared for.

My friend knitted me a tea cozy for Christmas. It's awesome! Blue with orange stripes with "Coffee, Tea or Me?" stitched into it. I'll take a picture ;)

Hey, I got that pattern in my LionBrand Yarn newsletter today. Nope, not gonna make it. The cottonease pattern for a baby poncho? That I'm doing.

Hey Catherine, just quietly, if you feel you need to make a cozy, you can send it to me and I won't tell the men in white coats **wink wink** I know you are tempted....

Oh Catherine, what does it say about your blog readership, when everyone knows what a bong is but hardly anyone knows what a tea cozy is?
Geez we're getting as bad as myspace around here.

being a preferred tea drinker, I own and love my red tea cosy. Like Rosepetal said, they do a fine job of keeping the pot warm and the handle cool. and tea is a lovely drink with a long history and rich tradition...
