The day before we buried Alex, I found a message board strictly devoted to women who had suffered a stillbirth on the Silent Grief website. It was a lifesaver in those first horrific days...and has been a lifesaver many more times since then. Like in the blogosphere, I have made a couple of very good friends. One of these amazing women, Tara, sent me this gift this week...
"Those we have held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever."
She also sent me a smaller pin version of the angel, without the inscription, with an emerald...for my May boys.
Thank you Tara. I love you and I can't tell you how much it means to me that you still talk to me now...given the awkwardness of our situations (Tara is pregnant...we were pretty close in our due dates this year). Thank you for the wonderful gift. But most of all, thank you for all the kind words you have shared with me through the last year. You have helped me more than you know. And if there are any blessings to come out of losing my babies, it is that I have you as a friend.
