Dear Dr. A.:
I would like to schedule a time when Steve and I could come in to your office and talk about our options. We need to know where to go from here. Is all the testing on the placenta and Travis done? Was an autopsy performed on Travis? Are there other diagnostic tests we can take to figure out what is wrong with me? Are there any treatments that can be pursued (for what is apparently a chronic condition) that would increase the chances of having another live baby?
While I appreciate the positive feelings I've been getting from you, I need more information so I can honestly weigh the options. I went with faith and Travis died. I feel like faith isn't going to be enough IF I'm going to try to have another baby.
Thank you for your time. I really do appreciate it.

Hi, Cathy,
I saw your e-mail this morning.
Yes, at this point all the tests are back. Travis' autopsy did not shed any light on what happened, and the placental pathology was suggestive, maybe, of anemia (low blood count). That could be due to viral infections, and other causes, but that couldn't be determined. I've asked Dr. E. (perinatologist) to see what he thinks---after getting his thoughts, I'll call you so that we can talk and elaborate a plan. Hang in there, Cathy. I can promise you this: I'll support you in whatever you decide and do whatever it takes to help you out.
God Bless,
Dr. A

How many doctors do you know make promises? I love this man (sorry Steve).

Oh God Catherine - I love him too! What an awesome doctor!
He sounds like an awesome dr! He really seems to be going out of his way, and you dont find that often. I hope that he can help you and Steve figure out where to go from here. You are in my thoughts. ((((hugs)))
To have a Dr. with that much compassion - and so supportive! My Dr. is a dick. Not going to be my Dr. much longer. He sounds like the best kind of person!

He's a keeper!
Seems like you found one of the good ones! It seems like so many doctors today are afraid of being held liable or being sued by their patients, that they put up a wall and try not to get too personal - it is nice to see that your doctor is a caring and compassionate human being first, and not afraid to show it.
He sounds so wonderful. I'm so thankful that you have such a caring doctor - I really am. I'm sure it must be very difficult for him not to be able to give you the answers you so desperately want and deserve, and it's amazing that he's being so open and not brushing you off and trying to make it all go away.
I think I love him a little bit too.
