SOOO lucky

I find it amusing that, "Dr. A. doesn't have any open appointments next week,"...

until I tell them I've emailed with him and he ASKED me to schedule next week...

and they ask WHY he would instruct me to do that...

and I tell them I've had two stillbirths...

and there is that slight gasp and mumbled, "I'm sorry,"...

and then there is magically an appointment available Wednesday morning at 11am...

and the scheduler says, "That was very lucky."

I mean, really, could I make this stuff up???

I still don't know why the people who answer the phones feel the need to constantly protect our doctors from the crazy wack-jobs he calls "patients". You know, instead of acting as a line of communication between the doctor and the aformentioned wack-jobs.

Good thing you have email contact with him in order to get past the high level security check at the door/phone!

Wow... I have one word: really??? I mean, you'd think that they could come up with something better than that...

Ahhh, the dumb-fuckery continues. You'd think it'd get better sooner or later.

There's always chocolate...

How many times have you been seen in that office? You would think they would remember your name.

Geez.

My experience with medical receptionists has never been that good. Luckily my OB's receptionist is good. My general doctor's is on a total power trip.

What!?? I spot reading blogs for a while and you go and get pregnant?

Congratulations!

I'm glad the dr had a magical appointment available.

Oh, dear.

When I tell them I've had three pregnancy losses last year they don't know what to say to me...

I think it's kind of funny, considering they ARE an OB's office, and all. I guess even the receptionists live in shiny happy puppy land.

And apparently an appointment opened up JUST as you were calling? *wink wink*

And congratulations!

Weeks after A died, we decided to take a family vacation. JD was saying how everything around us was the same, unaffected, and how hard that was on him. So I decided what the hell, let's try a vacation. But the actual story here is that the week before we left, I was picking Monkey up from preschool, and I told her teacher that she won't be in the next week. The teacher asks why, and I reply that it's because we are going on vacation. "Oh, some people are lucky" says the teacher. Blood rushes to my head and I tell her that I wouldn't call US lucky. This was five fucking weeks after A died. Seriously she couldn't keep that in mind anymore?

Just saying people say this stupid shit apparently all the time. I am sorry she said that to you.
