Twenty-six been-there-done-that moms responded when asked about their biggest fear concerning labor/delivery and bringing home a new baby. Not one of them responded that they were afraid the baby would die and they wouldn't get to bring him/her home. And that is why I can't talk to most other pregnant women.

i think the hygiene hypothesis is interesting, and i use it often to justify the dust bunnies accumulating under my furniture or to blame my hyper-housecleaning mother for my allergies.
on the other hand, she grew up on a farm and has the worst hay fever of anyone i know.
maybe the benefits of exposure skip a generation?
