Apparently, the best way to get great results from my houseplants is to add some plant food and then completely ignore them.

Wow, really? I will have to try that. African violets remind me of my grandmother. She always had tons of them in her den in her bay window when she was alive.

No kidding? My primroses always die. I have african violets in the window of my office and they are very happy -- first time in my life that i have managed to keep them alive lol. And it is definitely the office window that does it -- when i was on leave i took them home and they all died...
I wished that worked for me. I just threw away a few plants that I had been keeping on life support for years... I guess not watering them for a couple of months was just more than they could take, lol!
