Spring dreams
It's time to start planning the spring planting. My gardens suffered horribly last year and flowers were pretty much choked out by grass and weeds. As soon as the snow is outta here, I'm going to get to pulling out the unwelcome invaders. And I'm creating my planting plan of attack early with the help of various catalogs and notebooks. I know several of my perennials will have survived the neglect...but probably not all of them. Instead of trying to chart my gardens out based on what I THINK will make it, I'm going to start some seeds indoors for transplanting where the empty spaces show themselves. Plus, I have some seeds I can just broadcast on top of the loose soil to fill in the blanks.

I wanted so badly to continue working on our garden this year...I'll just have to admire yours this time around.
I love my garden a lot and it has gone to wrack and ruin this last year. I have also given up my allotment as I can't dedicate the time to it as we have bigger things to concentrate on this year. There is nothing more satisfying than picking and eating food you've grown yourself.
I will try to tackle my garden at home. I love Dahlias and Snapdragons ( pic 2 not sure if you call them the same) they remind me of my grandad.

OMG, me too, me too. I ordered my seeds weeks ago but have not yet planted. Maybe this weekend? It MUST be done soon. You are growing scabiosa from seed? (3rd pic from bottom?) Let me know if it works? I never have much luck with perennials from seed.
I love gladioluses (sp?). I hope they come up for you. And after you are done with that, do you want to come over and do the whole design and plant thing at my house?
