Dear Dr. A.

Thanks Dr. A.

I appreciate the information.

One question. When you say it, "should not be an issue going forward," what does that mean? Am I totally immune to this particular virus now? So if exposed during a subsequent pregnancy, the baby would not be at risk?

The reason I ask is because it's entirely possible that wherever I picked it up from is still within my realm of daily activity. Do I need to find a biohazard suit in a maternity size in order to avoid it next time?(sorry...more inappropriate humor)

Thanks again.
Catherine

Hi, Cathy,

Right---you should be safe from getting it as you have immunity against it---so, no, don't need a space suit...

Also, extremely unlikely that it played a role in both your prior pregnancies; also, it doesn't linger around---you had it, and it's now gone.

Hope this helps,
Dr. A

Yeah...it helps...it tells me that if there is a freak one in a zillion chance I'll kill my unborn, I'll manage to do it.

Good Christ, there's still the plague out there somewhere, isn't there?

I'm just so proud of you for being so proactive about this and trying your hardest to find out some answers. Thank you so much for sharing your conversations with your doctor. It's really inspiring me to find out some answers as to why I abrupted so massively with Nate. I need to have my blood tested, but I'm scared. I've got to do it though--you just can't bury your head in the sand and ignore it. You're not--I'm proud of you (I'll say it again..)

You are getting some answers and tests, granted nothing is giving you a reason as to why and I know how frustrating that is. All my tests, and I have not had nearly as many as you, came back normal so no idea what goes wrong with my pregnancies.

Don't stop asking the tough questions. I am so glad to see that there are doctors out there that are willing to answer the tough questions, even when they know they are unable to give the answer their patient wants, they give the truth.

I know that sounds goofy but it is the best I can put it.

Loved the camera post by the way. Also, received your letter so need to get moving on that asap. Don't want to leave anyone with cold feet. ;)
